The Story
Mizizi Yetu is a Kenyan music collective brought together by a shared love for music, creativity and the experiences that grow around them.
We create original music shaped by rhythm, storytelling, collaboration and the individual voices of the musicians within the collective. Our work moves across different sounds, settings and creative expressions, allowing us to explore music both as something we make and something we experience together.
At the heart of Mizizi is a group of musicians who are constantly developing their craft - writing, arranging, recording, performing, producing and learning from one another. Collaboration is an important part of how we work, both within the collective and with the wider creative community.
Alongside the music, we create opportunities for people to encounter it in different ways: through intimate experiences, live shows, recordings, collaborations and the communities that form around them.
Mizizi Yetu continues to grow through the people we meet, the music we make and the experiences we create together.
